Why PACE?
"I was living in an apartment with only one chair and a few articles of clothing as my possessions. I have a chronic disease that has affected my hands, skin and bones. I have limited vision and because of my poor health, I have lost many teeth. Caring for myself was getting harder and harder. I do not speak English which made it even more challenging for me to seek help. The Residents Service Coordinator at my building found PACE and my life has been different since I have enrolled.
"I have been a member of PACE for two years. The staff is very dedicated to the clients and to helping us. PACE has helped my vision; they provided me dental care so now I can smile, and most of all it has given me hope to begin a new day. PACE knows me very well and if I were to lose PACE it would be miserable."

“Two years in the PACE Organization, and my life has changed for the better.”
These are the words from one of our participants in PACE-program of all inclusive care for the elderly. Marie is prone to headache and dizziness, but who still wants to be able to live a “normal” life and stay in the community as long as possible. Marie lives alone. Due to her poor health, she has had several accidents such as falling in the shower. For the last two years, Marie has been a member of PACE and her life has changed for the better. Now, every day she gets up and looks forward to the PACE van coming to pick her up. She enjoys the ride from her home to the PACE Organization and likes to look around the city. She enjoys seeing all the changes in the city of Providence. At PACE, she gets services, such as food, exercises, medical care, games, entertainment, showers and company which means a lot to her. Marie is very happy at PACE and is able to enjoy her life again. She feels she has control of her life like everyone should. Marie likes the fact that she does not have to go to a nursing home. She gets all the care she needs under one roof while keeping her freedom.
